What are some of the downsides of living in East Contra Costa County?

As bedroom communities, Antioch, Oakley, and Brentwood don't have much to offer in terms of entertainment, employment centers, restaurant options, services, or amenities. Public transportation is veritably limited, though BART has been extended to Antioch (between Oakley and Brentwood), making it easier to swap to San Francisco and other BART- served points.  The Unified School District throughout much of East Contra Costa County is not known for being particularly strong, at least not on par with those of Danville, Lamorinda, San Ramon, or Walnut Creek, all of which are considered affluent communities on Contra Costa County's Western side. However, as the Bay Area's population grows, I see huge potential for towns like Antioch, Oakley, and Brentwood to become more desirable. As more high-paid professionals are pushed out of the Peninsula, Silicon Valley, and Alameda County, the availability and affordability of decent-sized housing in Brentwood/Oakley will entice more peop...
